Ekatontapiliani stands a few minutes from Parikia harbour. Tradition links its founding to Saint Helen in the 4th century, while the church’s present form is attributed to the age of Justinian.
The name means "of the hundred doors". Legend says 99 are visible and the hundredth will appear when Constantinople becomes Greek again.
Don’t miss the baptistery and the church museum. On 15 August the island’s biggest festival takes place here.
